Adobe
Dreamweaver is the premier Web development tool available, producing the tightest and cleanest code. That means
faster load times and better compatibility across browsers. It's what I use to maintain the 70+ sites that I now have. |
|
Micrografx Picture Publisher is a high end Photoshop equivalent, only faster
and easier to use ... too bad they went out of business. However, I've found Fireworks, part of the Dreamweaver suite,
to be a good alternative. |
|
trueSpace is a very powerful
3D design and rendering package. While it may not have the features of 3D Studio Max, it has a much cleaner interface
and a significantly faster rendering engine. |
|
Xara X is an Adobe Illustrator like,
vector based drawing package. I prefer it because of its speed, ease of use and features. It also has by far the best
bitmap to vector tracing routine I've ever seen. |
|
Xara Webstyle is a handy little tool
for creating quick yet original and impressive Web items like bullets, horizontal rules, rollover buttons and such. |
|
Xara 3D is another handy tool used
to create 3D text with shadows, textures etc. See RiverPC.com 's home page for
a sample of the kind of 3D animated buttons it can create. |
|
Fractal Painter is still the most
unique painting software available and can be used to create some stunning background images or collages. |
|
Adobe Illustrator is
the grandfather of illustration programs and gets used here from time to time, especially when clients need electronic
documents ... every print shop on the planet supports Illustrator. |

The best search engine ... period. Also has a tool called the Google Toolbar.
It's free and makes searching easy. It also blocks popups. |
